General Enquiries

When are you open? 

Our doors open on Monday 2nd December through to Friday 20th December.

Our daily opening hours are 12pm to 11pm with last orders at 10:30pm. 

 

What are the games? 

Eisstock, known as Bavarian curling is a traditional alpine sport where players slide ice stocks down a rink towards a target. 
Jingle Bowls is an exciting winter-themed twist on the classic game of lawn bowls.
Both games are played in two teams, typically made up of five people.

Who can play? 

Anyone & everyone, no previous experience required.

 

How many people can play?

Each rink typically accommodates 10 people split into two teams. There are 12 rinks in total so we can accommodate up to 120 people on the rinks at any one time.

 

How do the time slots work? 

Every package includes one hour of Eisstock and Jingle Bowls. Our one hour time slots are usually on the half hour, every hour starting at 12:30pm with our last slot at 9:30pm. 

 

Can I reserve a table or area?

To reserve a table or area you need to prebook one of our packages. Every package comes with a reserved area for an allocated amount of time. 

 

Do you allow walk-ins?

Yes, walk ins are welcome to play or just eat & drink provided we have availability. We prioritise guests who have pre-booked so please make a booking in advance to guarantee entry. 

 

Do you allow under 18’s in the venue?

We are strictly an over 18’s only venue. 

 

Do you check for ID on arrival?

If you’re lucky enough to look under 25, you may be asked to show ID on arrival. We accept passports, driving licences and proof of age cards bearing the PASS hologram.

 

Is there a dress code?

There is no set dress code for The Winters Of The World – the more festive the better!

 

What shoes should I wear? 

We recommend flat shoes for playing our games. 

 

Do you have a cloakroom?

Yes, we have a fully staffed cloakroom where you can drop your coats and bags. 

 

What happens if it rains?

The venue is fully indoors in a purpose built, heated marquee. Come rain or shine you will be warm & dry.

 

Are you an accessible venue?

Yes, we have disabled access and facilities. If a member of your group is a wheelchair user, please let us know in advance so we can appropriately allocate your rinks and tables.

 

Lost Property

If you have left something at our event, please contact us at events@wintersoftheworld.com with a full description of the item and we will do our best to get it back to you. Please note, Winters of the World cannot accept liability for any items left on our premises.

Booking Queries

What should I do if I am running late? 

Please let us know as soon as you can if you are running late. We will do our best to accommodate you but can’t make any guarantees as we are often fully booked. 

 

Do you offer exclusive hire?

Yes, we do. Please get in touch with one of our Event Managers to discuss – events@wintersoftheworld.com

 

Can I open a bar tab?

Yes, you can.

 

Can I pay by cash?

We are a cashless venue. We accept all major credit cards, apple pay & google pay. 

 

Can I make changes to my booking?

Yes, depending on availability we will do our best to accommodate any changes. Please get in touch with your event booker to discuss as soon as possible.  

 

What are your payment terms?

To secure your booking, we require full payment within seven days of signing the contract.

Food & Drink

How do the food & drink vouchers work? 

Each guest will be given a ‘ski pass’ pre-loaded with their food & drinks vouchers. These can be redeemed at all our bars & food kiosks.

 

Can I pay for food & drink on the day?

Yes, you can.

 

Can I come for some food & drink and not play? 

Absolutely, we would love for you to come and enjoy our food and drinks.

 

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

We kindly ask that guests don't bring food from outside into the venue. We have plenty of delicious options to choose from. 

 

Can we eat and play at the same time?

You can, however we recommend eating before or after your game so you can enjoy both the food & the game to their full potential. 

 

Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?

Yes, we can cater for dietary requirements. Please let us know these in advance so we can make sure everyone is catered for. Please always disclose any dietary requirements or allergies when ordering

Our entrance is located at the South East corner of the square.

Parking:

There are parking locations nearby including an NCP Car Park below Finsbury Square.
